If you go down to the Show today.
Whilst the rest of the states schools were finishing up the term yesterday, Students from St. Columba's High School, in the Blue Mountains, just west of Sydney, were enjoying the first day of 2 and a half weeks of freedom. With the school being closed to allow teachers to pack up and clear out for the extensive maintenance and rewiring taking place over the next few weeks, students took advantage of their early leave and flocked in droves to Sydneys Royal Easter Show, hoping to avoid the massive crowds which come with the Easter long weekend.
The Show is a display of the great diversity within Australia, and an opportunity for many Sydneysiders to experience a small part of Australian rural life.
I started writing that this morning In a different mindset.
It seems stupid now.
